Home visits are made for medical reasons only to the genuinely housebound and those patients with serious illness who may be at risk if they travel. Requests should be made before 11.00 am but in the event of an emergency please contact 999 without any delay.
All home visit requests are reviewed by the on call doctor prior to the visit. Lack of transport is not considered a valid reason for a home visit.
Please remember that patient care is best dealt with at the surgery as a doctor has access to full medical records and facilities for examination and treatment.
You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
