Key Patient Services

eConsult

eConsult is an internet-based questionnaire that offers self-help guidance and electronically sends a form to the GP Practice, eliminating the need for phone or in-person contact.

The Practice assigns the eConsult appropriately and notifies the patient through text or email about when they can expect a response from a clinician, if needed. If an appointment is necessary, the patient is notified via text or email.

Additionally, eConsult handles administrative enquiries like sick paper requests and test results.

Prescriptions

Can be ordered via:

  • MHOL or Surgery App
  • By posting a repeat slip in the practice’s letterbox
  • Or a handwritten note with Name address, Date of Birth and items required will suffice
  • Box in reception
  • Via your pharmacy – please arrange via your nominated pharmacy

Order for prescriptions are not taken over the telephone.

Please allow 48 hours for prescriptions to be processed at the surgery.

Things to remember

  • Acute prescriptions can be collected from the practice by arrangements for urgent prescriptions i.e. Antibiotics
  • Routine repeat prescriptions can be collected from your nominated pharmacy.

The surgery doors are open to patients:

Monday 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM
Tuesday 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM
Wednesday 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM
Thursday 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM
Friday 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM

The practice is available by telephone 08:00 – 18:30.

Between 6.30 pm and 8.30 am, in an emergency, patients to ring Hywel Dda Out-of-Hours Service on 111.

New patients

Welcome to Burry Port. Our list is open to all patients moving in to the practice area.

Please note: our list is temporarily closed to local patients that already have a GP in the area due to local GP sustainability issues

Appointments

All requests for appointments are triaged by the clinical team. To do this, the reception team will ask for a brief description of your problem.

This will be put in for a message and a clinician will call you back.If an appointment is needed this will be booked in the same day.

Urgent Appointments

The most suitable and accessible physician will attend to urgent cases on the same day.

Kindly note that children below 14 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Patients meeting the criteria for an urgent appointment will receive a consultation on the same day, either in person, over the phone, or through other suitable means.

Cancellations

We make every effort to provide optimal care to our patients.

However, when appointments are missed, thousands of our patients miss out on the opportunity to receive care at the time when they require it the most.

In case you are unable to keep your appointment, kindly notify us as early as possible so that we may offer the slot to someone else.
